Facebook for Android Updated – Places, Groups, In-App Notifications

I’m fairly certain I’m not the only one that hasn’t been the happiest with Facebook for Android. Overall, its just been slow, buggy, and under-featured. Luckily, Young Zuck’ gave us proud Android users an updated version today.

Updates to Facebook for Android

• Places – Users can now join their iPhone friends (do y’all have those?) in checking in wherever they go
• Groups – Facebook recently pushed some major updates to its groups feature on the web. Now you can access it within the Android app
• Notification Improvements – users of the Android Facebook app will undoubtedly inform you of the annoyances with notifications. Click on one and it would take you to the browser. Not anymore. Notifications can be viewed right within the app.

Overall, its a huge improvement and brings the Android version closer to its iPhone counterpart. Definitely makes it one of the better social media Android apps. If only we could get those new Facebook Deals…
