It was a big year for the Android platform as the Android community witnessed technological milestones during 2010 as Google kicked everything off with the launch of the Google Nexus One running Android 2.1 on January 5th and closing down the year with the launch of the Samsung manufactured Google Nexus S running Android 2.3 giving us a taste of their latest tasty treat on their OS menu.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years with my Military Occupational Specialty in the Communications field, the mobile world was gearing up to launch the first Android device. After purchasing the T-Mobile G1, I simply became a fanatic and an avid follower of the openness that Android brought to the table. I’m currently rockin’ the Google Nexus S and Samsung Vibrant and have had the privilege of also owning many other notable handsets including the Google Nexus One, HTC HD2 (Android of course), T-Mobile G2 and T-Mobile’s myTouch 4G.
I am a tech enthusiast in anything Android and as some of you may already know, I used to write full-time with AndroidSPIN. As another opportunity presented itself, I now have a full-time job with a certain wireless carrier. I’ll be doing everything I can to provide you all with hardware, software and application reviews as well as guides and tutorials and if my personal finances permits I’ll do my best to bring you the latest from the front lines of upcoming events.
As 2011 is on track for an even bigger year starting with all of the announcements from CES in January followed by the official announcement of the tablet-friendly Honeycomb OS Google has prepared to serve us on such tablets as the Motorola XOOM, LG Optimus Pad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, we here at The Droid Demos are striving to bring the Android community all of the latest news, reviews, guides and tutorials of what mobile technology has in store for us. As day 1 of Mobile World Congress event held in Barcelona has come to a close, the tech world is under attack as Android continues to pull the punk card of its competitors offering up the very latest in design innovation as well as performance in the upcoming dual-core and quad-core processors.
