As an Android user, you probably have a few ways to find new apps to try out on your phone, whether it just be through browsing the Android market or getting recommendations from services such as AppBrain. Whatever it is, you’ve surely come to find a select group of apps that you just can’t live without. Apps that would leave an empty space in your heart each day you went without it. Apps that have made your life easier or just made it a heck of a lot more fun.

Well, get ready to share. We want to know those apps you hold dear to your heart and build a list made by the community itself for future Android users to browse as they come home with their shiny new device. My favorite apps are:

Pulse: Keeps me informed on all my news and blogs. Plus, I can log into my google reader and get updates as they come.

Poynt: Just a really cool app if you’re looking for something to do around town.

Dropbox: I can keep needed documents and files in sync with my laptop, desktop and my phone.

KeePass: Keeps all my passwords in one encrypted location. Pair this with dropbox (put the file in drop box) and I can keep all my KeePass accounts synced and protected.

Go SMS: Better than the stock messaging system, and better battery life than Handcent.

Remote for iTunes: Enough said, it just rocks!

PdaNet: Sometimes a wired tether just works better and charges at the same time. This is one I like the best.

Widgetsoid2.x: Gives me a toggle for other system functions. I personally keep on my widget: Wireless hotspot, Sync Now, Volume Adjuster, Mount/Unmount SD, Battery Temp, System RAM, and SD Memory.

There are others, but most have already been said below me.

Shoot me to take screen shots
CamScanner to scan any document, photo and saving it as a PDF file
CircleLauncher widget for awesome circle folders

Google Voice Search. Hands down. Turns my phone into an almost “Star Trekkian” experience. Still a few kinks to work out, but an awesome app none-the-less.

Barcode Scanner for scanning barcodes and QR codes.

Square and their reader for taking credit cards. They recently removed the $0.15 per transaction fee when you swipe a card.

Swype for an awesome keyboard. They have an open beta now!

Dolphin Browser for a great mobile browser, better than any built-in browser.

Picplz for an android Instagram clone. Might be better apps out there.

Google Goggles is another awesome tech demo app, hopefully someday you can scan just about anything and get results.

DoggCatcher Podcast player for all my podcasts. Not the best podcast app, but not the worst either.

Beautiful Widgets for an nice home screen clock and weather widget.

Thanks man! Have you tried Google Listen for your Podcasts? You may like it better than DoggCatcher. :)
