Android Apps Series

I’m not that surprised by how many Twitter apps there are on Android. That’s a given. Everyone wants to get in on the popularity. What I AM surprised about is the number of exceptional Twitter apps. I’ve used maybe 5 different Twitter apps for an extended period of time while on Android, only switching to try something new, not because I wasn’t happy with what I was using.

Seesmic can definitely be tossed into that group. I used the Seesmic desktop app for a period of time on the desktop and loved it. When I found out that they brought the ability to post from a Facebook page that you manage, like The Droid Demos’ Facebook page, I had to try it again (I had used it when it first launched for Android a while back). The verdict? I’ve got myself a new go-to Twitter app. Check out our review below.

Pros:

  • Extremely clean and stylish interface
  • Pretty extensive Facebook options including posting from Facebook Pages
  • Various picture and video uploading options

Cons:

  • Takes a few clicks to get to lists
  • Can’t swipe to other columns
  • No facebook notifications
