EVO ROMs – King’s UNleashed Ultra R2 [ROM Review]

There haven’t been very many new EVO ROMs lately, but one that has been recently updated is King’s UNleashed Ultra R2 ROM, which I had the pleasure of trying out for the first time. I was pleased right off the bat with all of the work put into the ROM, from the boot animation to the icons, to the status bar, to the dark themed apps. It seems that nothing was overlooked when it came to theming this ROM. Fortunately, it wasn’t taken overboard either and everything feels right. Its slick, clean, fresh, and due to some great optimizations, a speedy alternative to the stock ROM. Check out our review below and let us know what you think!

love the rom very visual and fast, coupe of bugs though, google nav crashes on voice input of destination, and hulu app did not install, any fixes?

  That’s odd. I didn’t have any of those problems.

A lot of the issues that people have when flashing to a new rom is due to not formatting all the mounts. (I’ve learned this the hard way) Don’t use clockworkmod to backup and wipe and then flash. Just do a standard backup on clockworkmod and then reboot into recovery. When the recovery screen comes up these are what I format:
“wipe data/factory reset”
“wipe cache partition”
Then go into: mounts and storage and format the following – boot, system, data, cache
I also format the dalvik cache and battery stats (these are in the “advanced” settings).
This should help you get rid of any leftover gunk from other roms you’ve flashed from. Do this everytime and you should see a difference. (oh, and for your own sake, download Juice Plotter from the app store so you can get a better gauge for your battery life)

    the douche is talking about the “audible selection” or key touch noise in swype and such. Ignore it.

P.S. I’ve installed the ROM, and because I hate all the Sense stuff, I ran Calkulin’s Remove Sense zip. Now it’s running beautifully!

One of the things that has kept me coming back to thedroiddemos.com is that you use an EVO. I’ve been tinkering with my EVO since day one, but with all the new stuff coming out, I use thedroiddemos.com to keep up to date with all the new nifty EVO stuff. Thanks!
