How to Get Rid of Carrier Bloatware [Bloat Freezer Review] promo1

Android Apps Series

Note: You must be rooted to use this app.

One of the things I find most odd is the fact that carriers like to encourage users to install a task killer when they get a new Android phone to kill the apps that they force upon us. Why don’t they just leave them off in the first place? But I digress…

Enter Bloat Freezer. For those of you new to the development side of the Android community, this has got to be the easiest way to get rid of carrier bloatware on your Android phone. Once rooted, just open up the app, select which apps you don’t use that you want to prevent from using up your precious space and battery life, and hit “Freeze.” It’s as simple as that. What’s more, it’ll allow you to restore the app if you ever decide you want to use it or you want to accept an OTA update (which sometimes fail if you have removed system apps). And at only $0.99, you can get it all done for less than a pack of gum. Check out our review below for the scoop.

Pros:

  • Extremely simple to use
  • Allows you to still get OTA updates
  • Easiest and quickest way to get rid of carrier bloat

It seems to have been removed. I strongly recommend Titanium Backup. It’ll do the same and has a ton of other features as well. Its one of my most used apps.

      Hey jj,

I’d recommend downloading Titanium Backup. You can remove system apps with TB very easily. Let me know if you have any trouble!
