I wonder if 4.0.4 needs a dif routine, I used v1.3 of tookkit. I have SU in the app drawer but the phone never got wiped in the unlock step

Ever get a repsonse to this – I ran into the same exact thing with 4.04 GSM as well…? Tried updating binary on superuser and it fails on gaining root access as well.

      • ttdanimal

I see you have to use the latest version of WUG – version 1.4 that isn’t linked above. Grab at xda-developers.

Ciotta, I know it’s possible… But the whole argument of the toolkit is that it will make it simple and safe. It’s too difficult for me to follow all the steps and I’m afraid I’ll mess things. Hope the programmers could help or teach me how to troubleshoot.

I have the same problem of Student99 and Ciotta.
I have Windows 7 32bits saying all devices have drivers and the Samsung installation itself run without problems.
    The terminal does not appear…

Also, any backup of mine returns 0 bytes (type 1 or 2).

    • Ciotta

I root Samsung without any toolkit. Remove all Samsung or similar drivers installed from your pc with usbdebug. search and install “pdanet setup samsung”. Then search for your appropriate superboot files, and check if there is a recovery cloackwork too (Nexus default recovery doesn’t work right). Fastboot/unlock bootloader/install recovery/flash a rom u want in your smartphone. Ah search only most recent files!!!

  • Student99

It install the Samsung drivers but no terminal window is opened
    What could be the problem?

    • Ciotta

       i’ve the same problem…

Once after installing drivers, click “Unlock” button unless you get a terminal window.
